Welcome to Endless Sport

The aim of this site is to give you an insight into my racing activitives as well as up to date news and results. Early 2010 I had decided to sell my Formula Vauxhall Junior as I wanted to learn about the aero effects of a car with wings and one that is modern in its design.
I decided to buy a 2006 spec Formula Renault 2.0 car mid way through last year, I have had a busy winter, testing and doing the last 4 races of 2010. Over the past few months the car has gone through a semi strip down and rebuild to ensure any worn parts are replaced ready for the new season ahead.
I am looking forward to entering the car into the Monoposto 2000 championship, a series which includes the dominant Dallara F3 cars. It will be a tough challenge to compete with them, but I hope to improve myself as a driver as well as the car I am sure I can get close.
What Really Happened at Oulton ParkThere were a lot of accusations thrown around following the events that unfolded at Oulton Park on the 2nd of July at the Monoposto 2000 race. I would like to set the record straight as to what really happend. Yes we removed the restrictor to give Kourosh half a chance of victory in the race. During testing on the Friday we had found that we were a second off the pace pace of Tristan Cliffes 210bhp Dallara 398 and upto 2 seconds with the restrictor. As qualifying demonstrated, Kourosh Khani ended up 3.045 seconds off pole having driven the perfect lap as our data showed, he had pushed the Renault FR2000 to the absolute limit. Read more... Setting a few things straightWhat should have been a nice weekend of racing at the Monoposto 2000 race at Brands Hatch a few weekends ago ended with Monoposto's Tristan Cliffe having the audacity to question the driving ability of Kourosh Khani who is an experienced driver and has competed in BARC Formula Renault Championship. Kourosh battled hard but fair to claim an excellent second place in Saturdays race despite having a power disadvantage. Currently the Formula Renaults are hard pushed to compete against the Dallara F3 cars, they are losing anything between 20-40bhp depending on the engine setup that the Monoposto F3 car has. A good driver can make up some of the deficit, but not all of it. |
Atleast the French are doing it right! It is certainly refreshing to see that the French are allowing the Formula Renault drivers to make full use of their car rather than punishing them. The video below shows a Formula Renault 2.0 driven by Hugo Blanchot in the French Libra race, a multi car championship similar to the one we have here in the UK. You can see the car is very competitive against F3 cars.
